LONDON (Alliance News) - Universe Group PLC said Tuesday it hired former Countrywide PLC executive Ivan Brooks as a non-executive director of the payment and online loyalty system provider.
Brooks has over two decades of experienced in IT leadership and consulting, Universe explained. He previously served as chief information officer at estate agents Countrywide as well as the UK arm of US fast-food giant McDonald's Corp. Whilst in these roles, he "led the adoption and roll-out of new technologies and drove business efficiency initiatives."
More recently, Brooks has been working as a consultant for businesses with regards to their IT services.
"I'm delighted to welcome Ivan Brooks to the Universe board," Universe Chair Andrew Blayze said. "With his deep understanding of IT systems and infrastructure in the retail sector, he will bring invaluable know how and guidance to the board as we continue to evolve our technology strategy."
Shares in Universe were 2.2% higher at 5.50 pence on Tuesday.
