Universe Group Reaches Installation Milestone In Rontec Partnership

LONDON (Alliance News) - Universe Group PLC said Monday it has installed its point of sale, back office, and head office solution in its 70th site for petrol forecourt operator Rontec.

Universe Group develops and supplies point of sale, payment, and online loyalty systems.

Universe's subsidiary HTEC is already the payment system supplier to Rontec, and the deployment of the new EPOS point-of-sale solution began last year and is continuing into 2018.

Chief Executive Jeremy Lewis said: "We are delighted to reach this milestone with such a leading retailer as Rontec.

"Our close working relationship with them has ensured that this next generation EPOS solution brings much mission-critical, extra control and functionality to allow retailers to tightly manage their business in real-time and so maximize returns."

Rontec operates over 240 forecourts in England and Wales, Universe said, partnering with other major forecourt companies such as BP PLC and Royal Dutch Shell PLC.

Shares in Universe were down 1.9% on Monday at 6.50 pence each.
