LONDON (Alliance News) - Unite Group PLC Friday said it has agreed to acquire and redevelop a 0.77 acre site from Portsmouth City Council, which subject to planning permission will be turned into a 830 bed student halls of residence.
The financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
Student accommodation provider Unite said the site which is located in Portsmouth's city centre should be completed in time for the 2016/17 academic year if planning permission is granted.
Unite has operated in Portsmouth for over ten years and currently provides a home for 1,400 students across three properties which are held on nomination agreements with the University of Portsmouth and comprise approximately half of the university's current accommodation.
