(Alliance News) - Unite Group PLC on Thursday announced a number of board changes due to succession planning, appointing two new directors and one departure.

Steve Smith, currently vice-chancellor & chief executive of the University of Exeter, will join Unite on April 1, 2020. He will be leaving the university in August next year. Smith chaired UCAS between 2012 and 2019.

She was independent reviewer for the Teaching Excellence & Student Outcomes Framework, which completed earlier this month and was vice chancellor & president of Loughborough University from 2006 to 2012.

Non-Executive Director Tim Wilson, meanwhile, will leave Unite at the end of 2019 after nine years.
