Unilever To Buy British Skincare Company REN Skincare

2nd Mar 2015 14:19

LONDON (Alliance News) - Anglo-Dutch consumer goods company Unilever PLC on Monday said it has struck a deal to buy British skincare brand REN Skincare.

Unilever did not provide any financial details on the transaction but said it expects the deal to close in May.

"We are delighted to be adding REN to the Unilever portfolio of personal care brands. It is a brand with an incredibly loyal following, with a unique proposition that no doubt gives it potential for even further growth, especially given that the naturals category is one of the fastest growing in skincare globally," said Unilever's Vasiliki Petrou, its senior vice-president for prestige brands.

REN was launched in 2000 and its skincare products, including creams, cleansers, body washes and oils and exfoliators are available in department stores, pharmacies and spas in over 50 countries, according to its website.

Unilever shares were up 0.6% to 2,884.00 pence on Monday.
