LONDON (Alliance News) - Personal care and household products company Unilever PLC on Wednesday said Marijn Dekkers will succeed Michael Treschow as the company's chairman.
Dekkers is currently chief executive of German pharmaceutical company Bayer AG but will step down from that role at the end of April. He will be nominated for election to the Unilever board at the annual general meeting in April, and Treschow will retire at the same time.
"Marijn Dekkers is a highly successful businessman with a formidable track record gained in some of the world's most competitive industries. I have no doubt that Unilever will greatly benefit from his knowledge, international experience and his strong belief in driving business growth responsibly and in the long term," Treschow said in a statement.
Shares in FTSE 100-constituent Unilever closed down 0.5% at 3,049.96 pence on Wednesday.
