LONDON (Alliance News) - Defence contractor Ultra Electronics Holdings PLC on Tuesday said it has won a GBP9.7 million contract extension with the UK's Royal Navy.
Ultra's Command & Sonar Systems sonobuoy facility has won a contract to produce and supply sonobuoys for the Royal Navy's Merlin Mk2 Maritime Patrol Helicopter fleet.
The deal follows on from a contract won by Ultra in 2015 to supply sonobuoys to the fleet.
"Ultra is delighted to have secured an extension to this important contract. Our long-standing partnership with the Merlin project team has allowed us to sustain and further develop the nation's airborne anti-submarine warfare capability, preserving a key battle-winning advantage for UK armed forces," said Ultra Chief Executive Rakesh Sharma.
