Ultra Electronics Wins Royal Navy Submarines Deal Worth GBP18 Million

7th Jul 2015 06:53

LONDON (Alliance News) - Defence company Ultra Electronics Holdings PLC on Tuesday said it has won a contract for the design and development of reactor control and cooling systems for Royal Navy submarines in the UK.

FTSE 250-listed Ultra said the GBP18 million deal has been awarded by Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC, the FTSE 100-listed aerospace and engineering company, and is the result of a collaboration between the two companies.

"We are delighted to have secured this new contract with the Royal Navy and Rolls Royce which recognises both Ultra's capability to understand its customer's needs and the confidence of the UK Navy in Ultra's ability. We also look forward to further enhancing our relationship with Rolls Royce," said Ultra Chief Executive Rakesh Sharma.
