LONDON (Alliance News) - Serco Group PLC may be excluded by the UK Ministry of Defence from bidding on a GBP15 billion defence outsourcing contract, as a result of the continuing investigation by the UK Ministry of Justice into allegations that the security-services group over-charged on a prisoner transfer contract, the Sunday Times reported.
The newspaper said Serco is part of a consortium led by HC2M Hill, a US engineering consultancy, bidding to run Defence, Equipment & Support, an agency responsible for buying fighter jets, tanks and warships for the Ministry of Defense.
