UK PRESS: Npower Generates More Complaints Than Energy Rivals - The Guardian

19th Nov 2013 07:24

LONDON (Alliance News) - Npower has been named the most complained about energy firm, in data compiled by industry data analyst Consumer Focus, according to The Guardian newspaper Tuesday.

The big-six energy supplier received almost three times as many complaints as its closest rival in data released Tuesday, with 202 complaints per 100,000 customers in the three months from April to June this year.

The figures show that complaints to the Midlands-based power company have surged over the past year. Consumer Focus records all complaints received by its office and combines them with those made to Citizens Advice and the energy ombudsman.

The consumer group said EDF Energy recorded the next highest number of complaints with 75, while SSE recorded 38 complaints accounts, making it the least complained about supplier, followed by Scottish Power with 41, British Gas with 55 and E.ON with 60.
