LONDON (Alliance News) - British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC will share video highlights from Uefa Champions League football matches on Twitter in real time, the Financial Times newspaper reported Tuesday.
BSkyB's plan to share the valuable sports clips with social media users is a coup for Twitter ahead of its planned US IPO, the FT said, and comes at time when BSkyB faces increased competition on sports television content from BT Group PLC. BSkyB is paying Twitter and undisclosed sum to promote its video tweets across the service, the FT said.
The new offering will start on Tuesday with three Champions League games, the FT said, including the marquee match-up of Barcelona versus Milan.
