Virgin Money UK PLC - Newcastle Upon Tyne, England-based lender - Seven directors and executives buy 158,119 shares in total at prices ranging from GBP1.2459 to GBP1.2652, worth about GBP200,00, on Friday last week. Among them, Chair David Bennett buys 23,952 shares, Chief Executive Officer David Duffy buys 39,192, and Chief Operating Officer Fraser Ingram buys 39,746. Virgin Money on Wednesday last week reported a narrowed annual loss, after putting behind it the payment protection insurance remediation costs of a year before, but this was hampered by a jump in credit impairment charges, reflecting a "cautious approach to an uncertain economic environment". For the financial year that ended September 30, Virgin Money's pretax loss narrowed to GBP168 million from GBP232 million the year before. Total impairment losses on credit exposures jumped to GBP501 million from GBP153 million the year before.

Michelmersh Brick Holdings PLC - Danehill, Sussex-based brick manufacturer - Non-Executive Director Tony Morris buys 22,658 shares at GBP1.12, worth GBP25,309, on Friday. The shares are Morris's only holding, having joined the Michelmersh board only last week. Morris is co-founder of Tessera Investment Management, a strategic advisory firm.
