(Alliance News) - The UK Competition & Markets Authority on Tuesday said it will investigate Mitie Group PLC's agreement to buy rival Interserve's facilities management division.
In June, facilities manager Mitie announced a deal to buy Interserve's similar business for GBP271 million in cash and shares. Interserve, a UK government contractor, had filed for administration in March 2019.
The monopoly regulator said it is inviting interested parties to make their comments before September 29 on the deal.
Shares in Mitie were 1.0% higher at 34.12 pence on Tuesday afternoon in London.
