(Alliance News) - The UK Competition & Markets Authority said Monday it will look into the anticipated acquisition by the refractory products supplier RHI Magnesita NV of Turkish mining company Kumas Manzeyit Sanayi AS.
The regulator said it is considering whether the acquisition may result in a "substantial lessening" of competition within the any market in the UK.
In September 2019, RHI Magnesita had said it signed a letter of intent with the sellers of Kumas. The letter of intent allowed RHI magnesita to commence competition clearance and other regulatory filings in relation to the proposed acquisition.
RHI Magnesita shares were trading 2.9% lower in London at 3,400.00 pence each on Monday.
