Ubisense Inks USD1.5 Million Deal With US Electric Utility

22nd Jul 2014 09:08

LONDON (Alliance News) - Real-time location intelligence services provider, Ubisense Group PLC said Tuesday that it has signed an initial USD1.5 million contract with an unnamed US electric power utility for its Ubisense myWorld product.

Tracking software Ubisense myWorld has been taken on by the new customer in order to improve operational awareness and productivity, said Ubisense.

The generated data can be accessed via any standard web browser on any smart device and will provide geospatial data access to the majority of the customer's employees, helping them to make informed decisions and be more productive, in order to improve customer service and support, said the company.

Ubisense Monday expressed confidence in meeting its full-year expectations, as it said it saw revenues rise around 40% in the half-year to end June. Ubisense recorded "substantial progress" in the transition of its business model during the half-year, it said, as it continued to shift focus towards its 'solutions' segment.

The company saw new customer wins with the Smart Factory System and MyWorld products, it said, which helped to drive up solutions revenues by 45%.

Shares in Ubisense were Tuesday morning trading 3.14% higher at 180.50 pence per share.
