LONDON (Alliance News) - Tufton Oceanic Assets Ltd on Friday said it agreed to acquire a containership for USD13 million.
The shipping company said the vessel will have a time charter of two years to an undisclosed operator of containerships, specialising in fresh fruit transport.
This acquisition will take Tufton Oceanic's fleet to eight vessels, five of which are containerships all below 3000 twenty-foot equivalent unit capacity.
Looking forward, the company said its investment manager will continue to identify an attractive pipeline of opportunities across a range of target sectors.
Tufton Oceanic shares were untraded on Friday, last closing at 1.08 pence each.
