LONDON (Alliance News) - Tristel PLC Tuesday said it expects full-year global sales of its Tristel Wipes System to reach GBP6 million and noted a survey which said Tristel's products are the most commonly used decontamination method for nasal endoscopes in the ear, nose and throat (ENT) market in the UK.
The firm, which makes infection protection, contamination control and hygiene products, said its expects global sales of the Tristel Wipes System to hit GBP6 million in the year to June 30, with GBP3.8m of those sales in the UK. It said the product is also used in ultrasound and cardiology departments, along with ENT departments.
In addition, the firm noted the publication of a report in the British Journal of Nursing which confirms that the firm's products, in particular the Tristel Wipes System, are the most commonly used decontamination method for nasal endoscopes in the UK's ENT market.
"It has taken us a decade to establish this market leadership position in ENT. One of the great benefits of the Wipes System to a hospital is that it requires no capital investment and has no on-going maintenance cost. For a cash-strapped health system this is a tremendous advantage over the alternatives. As our three-part process is both unique and patented we have created a deeply entrenched position in this major clinical area," said Paul Swinney, chief executive of Tristel.
Tristel shares were up 0.5% to 86.40 pence on Tuesday.
