LONDON (Alliance News) - Trinity Mirror PLC Wednesday confirmed it will pay compensation to four individuals to resolve claims relating to alleged phone hacking, and said it has already settled six other "voice mail interception claims" for agreed sums.
The company's subsidiary MGN Ltd has admitted liability to the four individuals who sued it for intercepting their voice-mails many years ago. MGN has apologised and agreed to pay compensation. The amount paid will be assessed by the court if it cannot be agreed, Trinity Mirror said.
Shares in Trinity Mirror were trading down 0.6% at 180.00 pence Wednesday morning.
