LONDON (Alliance News) - Tribal Group PLC Monday said it has acquired Australia-headquartered Human Edge Software Corp Pty Ltd for AUD15.2 million in cash, boosting its presence in Australia and South East Asia.
In a statement, Tribal, which builds education management software to universities, colleges and schools, said it expects the deal for the student management systems provider to add to earnings in its first full year in the group.
"Our strategic focus is to deliver technology-based systems and solutions which support management teams across education institutions. Bringing together Human Edge with our work for the New South Wales New South Wales Student Administration and Learning Management programme establishes Tribal as a leading provider of schools management solutions in Australia and enhances our existing global credentials in schools student management systems," Chief Executive Keith Evans said in a statement.
Human Edge, headquartered in Melbourne, but with a software development centre based in Manila, Philippines, supports about 1,900 schools and education management organisations throughout Australia and South East Asia, Tribal said.
Its installed customer base is predominantly in non-state operated Catholic and private schools in New South Wales and Victoria, which according to Tribal, will complement the New South Wales state school network, where its own software is being rolled out. Tribal said it expects to provide student management systems to more than 25% of schools across Australia after it completes the deployment programme.
For the year ended June 30, 2013, Human Edge reported AUD7.3 million in revenue and AUD2.0 million in normalised operating profit. Its assets were valued at AUD13.0 million.
