Tri-Star Resources Extends Bald Hill Deposit

7th Feb 2014 09:44

LONDON (Alliance News) - Tri-Star Resources PLC Friday said its exploration programme has identified an extension and potential new targets at the Bald Hill site in New Brunswick, Canada.

The antimony development company said that soil geochemical surveys conducted around the Bald Hill deposit in November and December demonstrate a further 1.5 kilometres of extension southeast.

The company said that multiple high priority targets have been identified along the extension and that historic drilling in 1997 located antimony bearing boulders with up to 11.3% antimony nearby.

Tri-Star said surveys carried out on its Bond Road target provide evidence of another significant mineralised trend including a 600 metre long antimony anomaly with soil values ranging up to 119 parts per metre antimony.

A total of 966 soil samples, 512 from bald Hill and 454 from Bond Road were collected by staff at Tri-Star.

Antimony is a nitrogen group metal which is mainly used in the production of flame retardants, batteries, plain bearings and solders.

Tri-Star Resources shares were up 7.3% to 0.209 pence Friday.
