LONDON (Alliance News) - Builder's merchant Travis Perkins PLC said on Friday it has appointed Atkins Chief Executive Officer Nick Roberts as CEO-designate with effect on July 1.
He will replace John Carter, who will step down at the end of August after five years in the role since 2014. Carter will remain with the group until the end of the year to allow for a smooth handover.
Roberts will join from Atkins, a unit of Canadian energy services group SNC-Lavalin Group Inc, where he was chief executive officer since 2017. Atkins was formed after former London-listed engineering firm WS Atkins PLC merged with SNC-Lavalin in July 2017.
"We are delighted to announce Nick's appointment. Nick joins us from his role as CEO of Atkins where he has been running a significant relationship-led global engineering, design and project management business. Nick has the breadth of skills needed to grow the business and to build on the strategy outlined in December," said Chair Stuart Chambers.
Shares in Travis Perkins were up 0.3% at 1,365.50 pence on Friday.
