TRADING UPDATES: Genedrive's Covid test kit gets EU approval

9th Dec 2021 12:26

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of updates by London-listed companies, issued on Wednesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

----------

Genedrive PLC - Manchester, England-based molecular diagnostics firm - Covid-19 test kit is awarded European certification. Genedrive's rapid molecular diagnostic test COV19-ID Kit receives certification under the European Communities Council Directive. Genedrive says its test kit delivers positive results as quickly as 7.5 minutes and negative results at 17 minutes. The Omicron variant of the coronavirus does not affect the assay design of the test, company claims. Genedrive's initial commercial focus is on the EU and will be followed by the UK.

Chief Executive David Budd comments: "This is an important milestone in the development of our new rapid molecular COVID19-ID test and we can now move forward with our commercial plans."

----------

Alpha FX Group PLC - London-based foreign exchange risk management and international payments - Says trading has remained strong in second half ending on December 31. Growth continues to be derived from group's core Corporate & Institutional FX Risk Management divisions in London, Alpha notes, alongside record half year performances, already achieved in second half to date, from all three of the group's newer divisions: Alpha Netherlands, Alpha Canada and Alpha Platform Solutions. Despite an increase in costs, as a result of the continued strong trading since September Alpha now expects revenue and earnings for the year to be ahead of most recent forecasts.

----------

Synectics PLC - Sheffield-based security systems services company - Trading has continued broadly in line with firm's expectations for year ended November 30, Synectics says. Underlying results for the second half of the financial year are expected to show a modest profit, resulting in an underlying loss for the full year lower than that recorded in the first half.

----------

VH Global Sustainable Energy Opportunities PLC - invests in sustainable energy infrastructure - Completes GBP5.9 million purchase of second 10.9 megawatt solar photovoltaic site located in Queensland, Australia. The acquisition completes the first tranche of the project consisting of two solar PV sites totalling 17 megawatts. Tranche II of the project will now focus on the construction of battery storage systems, VH explains.
