TRADING UPDATES: Fulcrum sells Uranium stakes, Bluebird eyes Bitcoin

Fulcrum Metals PLC - Canada-focused exploration firm - Terra Balcanica Resources Corp exercises first year option under the definite option contract agreed in July 2024. Accordingly, Terra Balcanica acquires 100% of Fulcrum's uranium projects consisting of the Charlot-Neely Lake, Fontaine Lake, Snowbird and South Pendleton projects in Saskatchewan. Fulcrum to receive CAD50,000 (about USD36,482) and be issued CAD350,000 worth of Terra Balcanica common shares, after which Fulcrum will hold 9% of Terra. Fulcrum to direct cash consideration toward ongoing working capital needs.

Gelion PLC - London-based battery energy storage systems firm - Subsidiary OXLiD Ltd partners with University of Nottingham to accelerate commercialisation of its solid-state separator and sulphur-based cathode active material technologies. Collaboration supported by GBP460,000 grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council Prosperity Partnerships programme from UK Research and Innovation. Funding will be used to optimise Gelion's solid-state separator and sulphur cathode active material technologies and to establish a prototyping line for solid-state pouch cells, expected to be operational by September 2025.

Alba Mineral Resources PLC - Northern Europe-focused mineral explorer - Agrees to acquire majority stake in the Motzfeldt Critical Metals Project in southern Greenland. Motzfeldt is a large and highly prospective niobium-tantalum-zirconium-rare earth element project. Raises GBP550,000 before costs in a share placing to institutional investors. Funds will be used to progress work at Motzfeldt and existing earn-in at Finnsbo in Sweden, as well as to support the next phase of blasting and bulk sampling at the Clogau-St David's Gold Mine in Wales.

Bluebird Mining Ventures Ltd - British Virgin Islands-based gold development company - Completes acquisition of 756 application-specific integrated circuit bitcoin mining units, comprising a mix of Bitmain and Canaan models with a combined total hashrate of approximately 63.7 peta hashes per second. Bluebird is in "advanced discussion" to sell these units under a streaming arrangement in exchange for a share of future bitcoin production. Comments: "If concluded, this would mark the company's first 'Streaming Bitcoin' transaction - applying structured commercial models to gain exposure to bitcoin economics while preserving balance sheet efficiency." Says transaction could result in more 30 bitcoin produced in three years. Sees no further costs relating to the anticipated streaming transaction. "This is a small but symbolic step in our roadmap," says Bluebird non-executive Chair Sath Ganesarajah. "We're building a portfolio of long-dated, asymmetric exposures across gold and bitcoin."

Arecor Therapeutics PLC - Cambridgeshire, England-based biopharmaceutical company - Forms scientific advisory board of experts in oral drug delivery and peptide therapeutics. The company is developing a novel technology platform for the oral delivery of peptides targeting significantly improved bioavailability compared with current approaches. Chief Scientific Officer Jan Jezek says: "At present nearly all peptide drugs are only injectable and there is well-established evidence that their oral delivery would improve patient compliance and adherence, reducing the overall healthcare burden and improving access. We are delighted to welcome this exceptional group of experts to our scientific advisory board, who bring unparalleled expertise in our mission to develop a novel oral delivery of peptides platform that can address the current significant unmet patient need."

Kropz PLC - Africa-focused phosphate producer and developer - Elandsfontein produces 74,717 tonnes of phosphate concentrate in the second quarter. Sales total 56,300 tonnes. Says mine remains in trial production phase as continues to encounter some challenges in progression to full production. Projects to address such challenges have resulted in a further funding requirement of ZAR200 million, about USD11.4 million. Signs funding agreement of an equal amount with ARC Fund.
