LONDON (Alliance News) - Transportation-focused software and technology company Tracsis PLC Thursday said its North American pilot has been extended to cover a further six sites in the US, following a successfully initial trial period.
The initial pilot, which commenced in November 2013, was for potential adoption of the group's Remote Condition Monitoring technology and associated software by a major North American Class 1 Railroad.
In the US, railroads are classified as Class I, II or III, as established by the Interstate Commerce Commission, which was a regulatory agency in the country until it was dissolved 1996.
The pilot covered five individual sites within the US where Tracsis hardware and software would be installed and tested over a number of months.
As with the original pilot, due to commercial sensitivities the contract value of the additional work will remain undisclosed.
Tracsis shares were quoted up 3.9% at 321.00 pence Thursday morning.
