Toumaz Subsidiary Wins Technology Strategy Board Funding

29th Jul 2014 09:55

LONDON (Alliance News) - Toumaz Ltd Tuesday said its Sensium Healthcare business has been awarded GBP250,000 in funding from the Technology Strategy Board, the UK's innovation agency.

The new funding will back a collaboration between Sensium, the wireless healthcare business, and the Leicester Diagnostics Development unit at the University of Leicester.

The organisations will work together on developing the next generation of SensiumVitals, the vital signs monitoring system made by Sensium.

"This funding is recognition of the potential of SensiumVitals to improve patient safety and deliver economic benefits to hospitals," said Anthony Sethill, the Chief Executive of Toumaz, the ultra-low power wireless semiconductor technology firm.

"The roll-out of the system is just beginning - and we are already greatly encouraged by the interest shown in the UK and abroad," Sethill added.

Toumaz shares were trading 3.7% higher at 7 pence Tuesday morning.
