Totally lands contract extensions as second Covid-19 winter looms

24th Sep 2021 08:57

(Alliance News) - Totally PLC on Friday said its Urgent Care division has landed GBP16 million in contract extensions.

Totally is a Derby-based healthcare service provider that spans public and private sectors. Its three divisions are Urgent Care, Planned Care and Insourcing, which worked closely with the National Health Service through the Covid-19 pandemic.

The largest win is GBP13 million extension to Vocare Ltd, Totally's wholly-owned subsidiary, for integrated urgent care, GP out of ours and urgent treatment centres in Yorkshire and North East England. Vocare's extension is now to September 30, 2023.

"During the last 18 months we have stood shoulder to shoulder with the NHS as it responded to challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic," said Chief Executive Wendy Lawrence.

"To avoid service disruption for thousands of patients, continuity is essential, and we are pleased that we can continue to support our NHS colleagues during this extended period."

Earlier this month, Totally said current trading is in line with market expectations. It noted that services in its three divisions had fully resumed but it was preparing for high demand as the country enters into a winter period with pressures from Covid-19 and the seasonal flu.

The company remains confident going forward, it said at the time, and anticipates further growth by supporting the NHS through a second winter with Covid-19.

Shares were up 3.8% at 36.33 pence in London on Friday morning.
