(Alliance News) - Saga PLC said Wednesday that Chief Executive Officer Lance Batchelor will retire with effect from the end of January 2020, when the company's current financial year ends.
The over-50s insurance and travel firm said it has started the process to search for a successor.
Batchelor has been in the role at Saga for six years since 2014, and prior to that was chief executive officer for takeaway firm Domino's Pizza Group PLC for three years from 2011 to 2014.
"Lance has led Saga with a resolute focus on reinvestment and rebuilding a truly customer centric organisation. On behalf of the board, we are grateful for his contribution and wish him every success for the future," said Chair Patrick O'Sullivan.
"Early progress in Insurance Broking is encouraging and we will provide a more detailed update at the AGM next week. These developments demonstrate that Saga is a strong business with an attractive future," Sullivan added.
Shares in Saga were down 2.8% at 38.92 pence on Wednesday.
