(Alliance News) - Ryanair Holdings PLC on Friday posted a strong increase in traffic for December, including notable growth from its Lauda unit.
Irish budget airline's total traffic for the final month of 2019 was 11.2 million passengers, which represented an 8.7% increase from the previous year's figure of 10.3 million.
This included a 67% rise in Lauda passengers to 500,000 from 300,000. Lauda is Ryanair's Austrian subsidiary.
In addition, traffic from the airline's Ryanair unit increased by 7.0% to 10.7 million from 10.0 million.
Ryanair reported its group load factor for December as being 95%, flat from the same month of 2018 but below the rolling annual figure of 96%.
On a rolling annual basis, total traffic was up 8.7% at 152.4 million versus 140.2 million year-on-year. This traffic figure includes traffic from before Lauda's August 2018 consolidation with Ryanair.
