LONDON (Alliance News) -Royal Mail PLC on Wednesday said Chief Executive Officer Rico Back is to assume direct commercial responsibility for the company's domestic letters and parcels business, Post & Parcels UK.
Sue Whalley, current CEO of Royal Mail's Post & Parcels UK arm, has stepped down from the Royal Mail board with immediate effect and is scheduled to depart from the company entirely by the end of March.
Chief Financial Officer Stuart Simpson will take on operational responsibility for Post & Parcels UK.
Royal Mail also has promoted Non-Executive Director Keith Williams to the role of deputy chairman. Williams is the current chair of the mail delivery company's audit committee, having joined the board at the start of the year.
Shares in Royal Mail were up 1.6% at 358.70 pence on Wednesday morning.
