LONDON (Alliance News) - Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC on Wednesday said Chief Executive Rakesh Kapoor intends to retire from his role by the end of 2019.
The FTSE 100-listed maker of Nurofen painkillers said it has now started a formal process to appoint Kapoor's successor, and will be considering both internal and external candidates.
Kapoor has spent more than eight years at the helm and 32 years at the consumer goods giant.
"Under Rakesh's leadership, Reckitt Benckiser has been transformed from a household cleaning business to a world leader in consumer health and hygiene," said Chair Chris Sinclair.
"2020 will herald a new decade and I believe now is a good time for new leadership to take this great company through the next phase of outperformance," added Kapoor.
