TOP NEWS: John Wood Wins Five-Year Hibernia Platform Contract

24th Oct 2016 06:31

LONDON (Alliance News) - Oil services company John Wood Group PLC on Monday said it has secured a five-year contract working on the Hibernia platform, offshore Newfoundland in Canada.

John Wood will provide engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services to the platform on behalf of Hibernia Development Co Ltd.

No financial details on the contract were disclosed but John Wood said options are in place for the contract to be extended for two further five-year periods.

"Since first oil in 1997, Wood Group has been the incumbent contractor for many of these services on the Hibernia platform. The first producing field of Canada's East Coast, it has been a cornerstone of our business in the region," said Michele McNichol, chief executive of John Wood's Asset Life Cycle Solutions arm in the Western Hemisphere.

"This new contract demonstrates the confidence this key client has in our team," McNichol added.
