TOP NEWS: Imperial Brands Hires ED&F Man CFO As Finance Head

17th Feb 2021 08:21

(Alliance News) - Imperial Brands PLC on Wednesday announced it has appointed Lukas Paravicini, chief financial officer of agricultural commodities merchant ED&F Man Holdings Ltd, as its own CFO from August 5.

The FTSE 100-listed tobacco firm, owner of the Winston cigarette and blu e-cigarette brands, said Paravicini will succeed Oliver Tant, who will step down from the role in August and depart following a handover process.

Paravicini worked as CFO of Fonterra Co-operative Group Ltd, a New Zealand and Australia listed dairy exporter, between 2013 and 2017, before serving as the chief operating officer of its global consumer & food service business from 2017 to 2018.

Before this, he spent 22 years with Nestle in several senior finance and general management roles, in South America and then Switzerland for Nestle Professional, the food service arm of Nestle SA, starting as CFO and then becoming vice president & general manager of Europe.

"He is a disciplined, results-oriented leader with a proven track record in international consumer goods companies. As well as his impeccable finance credentials, Lukas has considerable operational experience, as well as expertise in driving transformational change including in global shared services in large international organisations. These qualities will be invaluable to Imperial as we implement our new strategy," said Chief Executive Stefan Bomhard.

Earlier this month, just under 60% of Imperial Brands' shareholders voted to approve the director remuneration report, with the principal point at issue being the base salary for Bomhard.

Shares in Imperial Brands were down 1.7% at 1,487.50 pence in London on Wednesday.
