TOP NEWS: IAG Declares EUR700 Million Special Payout Ahead Of Results

LONDON (Alliance News) - British Airways parent International Consolidated Airlines Group SA said late Wednesday it will return EUR700 million via a special dividend along with a regular final dividend worth separately EUR327 million.

The FTSE 100 listed airline operator, which is slated to release its annual results on Thursday, said it will pay a special dividend of 35.0 Euro cents per share and a final dividend of 16.5 cents per share in respect of 2018.

The final payout, together with the interim dividend paid in December, brings the full year dividend to 31.€ cents, representing a total dividend of EUR615 million for the year.

According to consensus forecasts, IAG is expected to report operating profit before exceptional items of EUR3.16 billion for 2018, up 4.6% from the EUR3.02 billion it reported a year prior. Operating profit is the airline's key performance indicator.

In its own guidance, IAG said operating profit before exceptional items for 2018 will be at EUR3.15 billion.

The final and special dividend will be paid on July 8 to shareholders on the register on July 5.

London shares in the Anglo-Spanish company closed at 597.93 pence each, down 3.1%.
