TOP NEWS: Halma Annual Revenue Exceeds GBP1 Billion

LONDON (Alliance News) - Halma PLC said Tuesday it had record annual profits and revenue for the 15th consecutive year and posted revenues over GBP1 billion for the first time.

For the year ended March 31, the health and safety products manufacturer posted a 9% increase in pretax profit to GBP171.9 million from GBP157.7 million. Revenue for the year increased 12% increase to GBP1.08 billion from GBP961.7 million the year before.

The FTSE 100-listed company had revenue growth in all of it major regions. The US region, which represents 35% of annual revenue, recorded 8% revenue growth to GBP374.0 million from GBP345.3 million.

In mainland Europe - 22% of total revenue - revenue increased 13% to GBP237.7 million from GBP210.4 million. For the first time, the Asia Pacific Region revenue was higher than the UK.

Asia Pacific had a revenue of GBP174.9 million, a 15% increase, whereas in the UK it was GBP173.3 million, a 12% jump.

Halma also had revenue and profit increases in all four of its businesses. The best performer was its Infrastructure Safety sector which had a revenue increase of 11% to GBP349 million from GBP315 million the year before.

The company riased its final dividend by 7% to 8.97 pence per share from 8.38p the year before. Total dividend for the year stood at 14.68p per share, up 7% from 13.71p.

Chief Executive Andrew Williams said: "Halma has completed another successful year, achieving record results while increasing strategic investment as part of an enhanced growth strategy."

"Halma's market and geographic diversity, combined with the agility of our business model, will be important assets as accelerating technological and geopolitical change continues to impact individual regions and industries. Trading since the last financial year end has been positive, with order intake ahead of the order intake last year and revenue this year. We expect to continue to make progress in the coming year."

Shares in Halma were up 0.5% Tuesday morning at 1,429.00 pence each.
