TOP NEWS: Glencore Shakes Up Commodity Trading Leadership Team

LONDON (Alliance News) - Dual-listed commodity trader and miner Glencore PLC said Monday that it has made several appointments to its senior management team, starting with the promotion of Peter Freyberg as head of Industrial Mining Assets.

In the newly created position, Freyberg will be responsible for the oversight and responsibility for all of the group's industrial mining assets. Freyberg was formerly head of Global Coal Assets for five years since 2013.

Replacing Freyberg as head of Coal Assets will be Head of Ferroalloys Assets Gary Nagle. Japie Fullard has been appointed head of Ferroalloys Assets, succeeding Nagle.

Glencore further said that Telis Mistakidis will retire as head of Copper Marketing at the end of 2018 and will be replaced by Nico Paraskevas.

Also, Stuart Cutler will step down as head of Ferroalloys Marketing at the end of 2018, to be replaced on a joint basis by Jason Kluk and Ruan Van Schalkwyk.

Shares in Glencore were up 4.7% at 303.80 pence in London, while Johannesburg shares were up 3.2% at ZAR52.79 on Monday.
