TOP NEWS: GlaxoSmithKline Chief Financial Officer To Step Down In 2019

9th May 2018 12:23

LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline PLC said Wednesday that Chief Financial Officer Simon Dingemans will retire from the company in May 2019.

The company will conduct a global search to internally or externally to find a suitable successor.

Dingemans has been chief financial officer for seven years since April 2011, joining from investment bank Goldman Sachs International, from which he left as managing director and partner.

"Since joining GSK, Simon has played a very significant role in shaping the company. He has taken a consistent and sustained approach to support investment and improve operational efficiencies in all three of our global businesses. I am particularly grateful for his support and partnership since I took on the role of CEO and his counsel to me as we defined our new strategy. I want to take this opportunity to thank him for all he's done for GSK," said Chief Executive Officer Emma Walmsley.

Shares in GlaxoSmithKline were down 0.7% at 1,460.80 pence on Wednesday.
