TOP NEWS: GlaxoSmithKline changes name to GSK as demerger continues

16th May 2022 14:25

(Alliance News) - GlaxoSmithKline PLC on Monday afternoon confirmed that it has changed its name to GSK PLC.

The west London-based pharmaceutical firm first announced its intent to change its name in late April, alongside its results for the first quarter of 2022.

GSK is still proceeding with the demerger of its Consumer Healthcare business, which was first started in early 2020, and is expected to be completed in July, becoming Haleon.

Haleon will house brands such as Sensodyne toothpaste, Panadol & Advil pain relief, and Centrum vitamins.

Following the split, the new GSK will be focused on biopharmaceuticals.

Shares in GSK were up 1.3% at 1,777.60 pence each on Monday afternoon in London.
