LONDON (Alliance News) - Budget airline company easyJet PLC on Thursday said its passenger numbers increased in August while load factor was almost unchanged.
The FTSE 100-listed company recorded a 5.6% increase in passengers to 8.7 million from 8.2 million a year before. Load factor, however, increased just 0.1 percentage point to 96.4% from 96.3%. Load factor represents the number of passengers as a proportion of available passenger seats.
On a rolling 12-month basis, easyJet's passengers were up 5.8% at 84.1 million from 79.5 million in 2017 with load factor more substantially improved at 93.6% from 92.3%.
Shares in easyJet were down 0.4% at 1,489.00 pence on Thursday.
