TOP NEWS: CRH promotes Mintern as group finance director-designate

23rd Mar 2021 08:54

(Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed CRH PLC on Tuesday announced it has promoted Jim Mintern to the role of group finance director-designate.

The Dublin-based building materials group said Mintern will assume the role on June 1 following the retirement of Senan Murphy, which CRH announced back in September 2020.

Mintern is currently an executive vice president of CRH and a member of the company's global leadership team. He has most recently been chief of staff to Chief Executive Albert Manifold.

"[Mintern's] strong financial background, coupled with his extensive industry experience, prepares him well for this critical leadership role and comes at an important time for the group. Caroline has extensive operational experience as a senior executive in a global technology company. Her knowledge and insights will add greatly to the board as we continue to execute on our strategy and to drive shareholder value," said Manifold.

In addition, CRH has appointed Caroline Dowling as non-executive director with immediate effect.

Dowling is currently a non-executive director at DCC PLC and IMI PLC. She was Flex Ltd's business group president until February 2018, where she led the Telecommunications, Enterprise Compute, Networking and Cloud Data Center. She was also responsible for managing the Global Services division, supporting complex supply chains.

Shares in CRH were up 0.2% at 3,233.00 pence in London on Tuesday.
