(Alliance News) - Building materials firm CRH PLC said Thursday it appointed Non-Executive Director Richard Boucher as its chair designate ahead of the current incumbent leaving at the end of 2019.
Boucher - non-executive since March 2018 - will replace Chair Nicky Hartery at the start of 2020. Hartery will depart the FTSE 100-listed firm at the end of 2019, having been in the role since 2012.
Boucher was previously the chief executive at Bank of Ireland Group PLC between 2009 and 2017. Prior to this, he served in senior roles at Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC and at Ulster Bank.
Hartery said the appointment of Boucher "follows a robust and thorough selection process" and that with a "track record of creating value for shareholders, he is ideally equipped to lead the Board through the next phase of the group's development."
In addition, CRH announced former Skanska AB boss Johan Karlstrom has joined the firm as a non-executive director. He served as the chief executive at construction firm Skanska from 2008 to 2017.
Shares in CRH were 0.6% higher at 2,695.00 pence in London on Thursday.
