TOP NEWS: Computacenter Confident As Interim Revenue Passes Milestone

24th Aug 2018 07:59

LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 250-listed IT services and infrastructure firm Computacenter PLC on Friday reported a strong interim performance, with the company passing the GBP2 billion revenue mark for a six-month period.

Computacenter's revenue increased by 18% to GBP2.01 billion, while statutory pretax profit climbed 9.5% to GBP52.0 million.

On an adjusted basis, which excludes various items such as gains or losses on disposals and amortisation, pretax profit jumped 24% to GBP52.1 million.

Computacenter is paying an 8.7 pence per share interim dividend, higher than the 7.4p it returned to shareholders for the same period a year prior.

The company's core Technology Sourcing sector did particularly well, with revenue increasing 26% to GBP1.43 billion.

This figure, Computacenter said, is held by a GBP34.1 million licence sale in the UK at "very low" margins, which reduced the division's margin in that geography, with this lagging on Technology Sourcing's "spectacular" overall revenue growth.

Services revenue was up 2.3% year-on-year to GBP574.8 million, and within this Professional Services revenue increased 3.0% and Managed Services 2.0%, both at reported currency rates.

In the UK, interim services revenue fell, but German business did well and in France the company managed to "successfully negotiate" a tough first half in which it lost a major customer and renewed one at reduced margins.

Looking forward, Computacenter reaffirmed its upgraded guidance from July for 2018, though did say the second half of the year will be more difficult to predict due to a strong comparable. Nevertheless, it expects 2018 to be a year of "significant" progress.
