(Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed Aviva PLC on Tuesday said Chair Adrian Montague will retire later in 2020 once a successor has been appointed.
The London-headquartered insurance company said Montague was appointed as chair of Aviva in April 2015, having joined as a non-executive director in January 2013.
The company said it has initiated a process for the appointment of a successor.
"When I became chair in 2015 the board asked me to commit to serve for at least five years," said Montague. "In the meantime I remain committed to this great organisation which I am confident will deliver for all its customers, employees and shareholders."
"Adrian has chaired Aviva through a period of considerable change and departs with our very best wishes for the strong legacy he leaves," added Senior Independent Director George Culmer.
Aviva shares were trading 0.8% higher in London on Tuesday at 412.00 pence each.
