TOP NEWS: ASOS Ups Full-Year Revenue Guidance On Strong Four Months

12th Jan 2017 07:38

LONDON (Alliance News) - Online fashion retailer ASOS PLC on Thursday reported growth in revenue in the four months ended December 31, leading it to increase its full-year sales guidance.

ASOS said revenue in the four months grew by 36% to GBP621.3 million from GBP457.1 million the year before, as UK sales rose by 18% to GBP244.0 million from GBP206.2 million and international sales increased by more than half to GBP361.7 million from GBP238.1 million.

ASOS said its results were boosted by investments it made into its proposition and pricing, helping it to achieve a 25% increase in active customers, while average basket value rose by 2% and average order frequency was up 6%.

ASOS left its guidance for medium-term sales growth unchanged at growth of between 20% and 25%, but increased its guidance for its current full-year sales growth to between 25% and 30%. It added that it remains confident of delivering current market consensus expectations for pretax profit in the full year.

ASOS's full year ends on August 31.

"Following record sales over cyber weekend and the Christmas trading period, I'm pleased to report a strong start to the year," Chief Executive Nick Beighton said in a statement.

"ASOS remains well set to meet its longer-term ambitions," he added.
