LONDON (Alliance News) - Miner Anglo American PLC on Tuesday said its De Beers diamond unit's cycle 7 sales rose significantly against the sales made in the previous cycle.
Anglo said De Beers reported cycle 7 sales of USD630.0 million, much higher than the USD528.0 million posted for the sixth cycle.
"We saw healthy demand for our rough diamonds in Cycle 7, as manufacturers brought forward some of their demand in order to cut and polish rough diamonds in time for the important retail selling season," said Bruce Cleaver, the chief executive of De Beers.
