LONDON (Alliance News) - Aggreko PLC, the FTSE 250 temporary power company, on Tuesday said its Power Solutions business has been selected to enter contract negotiations to provide in excess of 100 megawatts of diesel-fuelled power in Brazil.
Aggreko's customer will be Amazonas Energia and the contract period is 15 years, servicing multiple communities in the state of Amazonas, the company said in a statement.
The company said it is responsible for fuel supply. Contract delivery should, subject to completion of the contracting process, begin during 2017.
Aggreko expects the contracting process to begin shortly and "has taken this step of disclosing our interest in this contract in response to local press speculation".
"We are pleased to have been selected to negotiate with Amazonas Energia. Our abilities to deploy our equipment in remote areas of the Amazon region, along with the fuel efficiency of our diesel engines, were critical to this competitive tender process. We look forward to discussions with Amazonas Energia to conclude contract negotiations and providing power where it is critically required," Nicolas Fournier, managing director of Aggreko Power Solutions, said in a statement.
Shares in Aggreko were up 2.3% 1,192.00 pence on Tuesday.
