LONDON (Alliance News) - Paper packaging firm Smurfit Kappa Group PLC said Thursday it has appointed a former Irish ambassador to the US as a non-executive director.
Anne Anderson will join the company from January. She was Irish ambassador in Washington from 2013 to 2017, and before that had been Permanent Representative of Ireland to the United Nations in New York.
Before that, Anderson had been ambassador to France from 2005 to 2009, and was also Permanent Representative to the EU and the UN in Geneva before that.
Chairman Liam O'Mahony said: "We are delighted to announce the appointment of Anne as an independent, non-executive director to the board of Smurfit Kappa Group.
"Anne's significant international experience will be of great value and her background further enhances the diversity of expertise on our board."
Smurfit Kappa shares were 0.4% higher Thursday at a price of 2,044.00 pence each.
