LONDON (Alliance News) - Tlou Energy Ltd said Wednesday the confirmation of the technical stage of its request for proposal for the development of a coal bed methane plant in Botswana has passed.
As a result of the proposal being confirmed, the Botswana Public Procurement & Asset Disposal Board has now approved a request from the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology & Energy Security to look at Tlou's financial proposal for the coal bed methane fuelled power plants.
Tlou said it "looks forward" to a positive decision on the financial proposal in "due course".
In October, Tlou announced the initial development of up to 10 megawatts is planned, starting with the first two megawatts of power that can be expanded as further drilling is conducted and more gas becomes available.
Tlou will look to connect the Lesedi coal bed methane project to the local power grid, and intends to make the connection at the town of Serowe, 100 kilometres away from Lesedi.
Shares in Tlou Energy were up 0.1% Wednesday at 5.60 pence each.
