LONDON (Alliance News) - Tlou Energy Ltd on Monday said that it started production testing at its Lesedi 3 development pod, as well as making "excellent progress" on operations at Lesedi 4, both in Botswana.
The company focuses on the delivery of power in Botswana and southern Africa.
"Drilling operations at the Lesedi 3 development pod were completed earlier this month. Production equipment has been installed and production testing is now underway," the company explained.
The production testing involves de-watering and lowering of the pressure in the coal seam to achieve gas flow.
Testing will continue over the coming months with the first data expected in the second quarter of 2019, the company said.
"Drilling has also been completed on the first of two lateral sections of the Lesedi 4 development pod. Lesedi 4A was drilled to 1,435 metres measured depth and successfully intersected with vertical production well Lesedi 4P," Tlou added.
Drilling of Lesedi 4B is ongoing.
Tlou Energy shares were trading up 1.9% at 5.50 pence each.
