(Alliance News) - Tlou Energy Ltd on Thursday said Botswana government has agreed to discuss a temporary power purchase agreement which will enable the company to provide a proof of concept for its 100 megawatt coal bed methane fuelled power project.
The company said the government has appointed Botswana Power Corp to undertake the talks and sign a temporary power purchase agreement with Tlou.
Negotiations for the full power purchase agreement with Botswana's Ministry of Mineral Resources, Green Technology & Energy Security remain ongoing, the power producer said, adding that it has received written confirmation from the government for its support for the ongoing power purchase agreement tender process.
Tlou Energy shares were up 6.9% at 3.42 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.
