LONDON (Alliance News) - Gas-to-power project firm Tlou Energy Ltd said on Tuesday it has completed drilling of vertical well Lesedi 3P at the Lesedi Coal Bed Methane project located in Botswana.
The well reached a total depth of 575 metres and intersected the Lower Morupule coal seam, which is the target for dual lateral wells.
Following drilling, the rig was moved to the Lesedi 4P well location, which was spudded on Sunday. Operations at the 4P well will follow the same program as 3P, and be drilled to a total depth of 580 metres.
The drilling program at Lesedi consists of drilling a single vertical production well, intersected by two lateral wells.
Once the wells are drilled, they will be completed using a separate workover rig, with surface installed. Production start-up is expected to commence in early 2019. The wells will then be on production for an extended period of time to de-water and lower the pressure in the coal seam to achieve cash flow.
Shares in Tlou Energy were up 0.2% at 5.51 pence on Tuesday.
